Corona: Now also on Åland

Two corona cases are confirmed on Åland.

This was told by Veronica Thörnroos, Head of Government of Åland Islands, at the extra press conference this evening.

The infected are two younger adults who have been traveling abroad and both have milder symptoms, says the Government physician Knut Lönnroth.

The tests that turned out to be positive were taken yesterday.

Infection tracking is currently underway in Åland. The people who have been in contact with the infected must be in strict quarantine according to the Infection Protection Act, says Knut Lönnroth.

By contact is meant that you have been in the same room as the people or have been in contact with the people for more than 15 minutes.

Those who are ordered to quarantine according to the Infection Protection Act are entitled to daily allowance but do not need to be tested if they have no symptoms.

The persons are believed to have been infected outside Åland.

Veronica Thörnroos points out that Åland has been preparing for this for a long time and that there is no cause for concern.

The government's information phone is open until 10 pm tonight.
